● The contractor would mow when the grass reaches 5 " in height or once each week . The turf will be mowed at 4 . 0 ". ● Mowing direction should change 45 degrees for each service to maintain an even cut and reduce ruts in the turf . ● Line trimming will be done around all trees , curbs , sidewalks , tables , benches , rocks , etc ., each time . ● Damage to trees due to equipment ( mowers , line trimmers ) shall be repaired or replaced ( in the case of severe damage to a tree ) at the expense of the contractor . ● Edging with an edging machine or oscillating blade trimmer will be done along sidewalks for every other service . ● Trash , sticks , and large debris will be picked up from the turf prior to mowing . ● Once mowing and trimming are complete , all trash , sticks , and debris shall be picked up from the turf area , and all walks and concrete areas shall be cleared of grass and debris using a blower . The use of mowing equipment to remove clippings from walks is not sufficient . ● Turf clippings shall be distributed evenly so that no clumps are left on the turf . ● Excessive leaves ( anything greater than a 1 / 2 - inch depth of cover on the turf ) shall be bagged and removed from the turf . ● Mowing shall not be done when the turf is wet from dew , during rain events , or anytime that ruts or depressions will be left from mowing equipment . ● The contractor will work with the Parks division to coordinate irrigation schedules so that mowing will occur when the turf has not been watered for 12 hours . ● Landscape maintenance and tree care are not part of this maintenance proposal .
