Description | A . Tree Removal : The Contractor shall remove trees deemed necessary for removal by Parks Certified Arborist . 1 . Felling of trees larger than 12 ” DBH shall not be permitted . All trees greater than 12 ” DBH shall be brushed / limbed out using appropriate rigging techniques to protect public safety and prevent unnecessary damage to surrounding turf , trees , shrubs , and landscape plantings . Sidewalks , curbs , streets , manhole structures and all other associated hardscape shall be protected from the impact of falling wood . Any and all damage to public or private property shall be reported to the Park Superintendent immediately . 2 . Stumps shall be cut to a height of , or as close as reasonably possible to , three ( 3 ) inches above soil grade B . Tree Pruning : The Contractor shall prune trees designated by Parks Certified Arborist . Trees shall be pruned to remove dead , dying , diseased , damaged , broken , crossing or rubbing , and / or poorly attached branches greater than two (> 2 ) inches in diameter . In the case of ornamental / specimen trees , shaping for aesthetics may be requested . |
