The Birmingham Museum property consists of two buildings within in the John West Hunter Park , located at 556 W . Maple Rd . and the Hunter House , located at 550 W . Maple Rd . in theCity of Birmingham , MI 48009 . The property consists of approximately 3 ½ acres and is bounded on the south by Maple Road , on the west by the Rouge River , and on the north by Willits Street . The project location is at the north boundary along Willits Street . The City of Birmingham wishes to construct improvements to the north portion of the John West Hunter Park , located at the Birmingham Museum in the City of Birmingham , ( identified as Phase 3 ) to provide for a walking path , decorative patio and boardwalk near a spring fed pond and pool to provide barrier free access to the north portion of the John West Hunter Park . This is a federally funded project with additional requirements as described in the RFP . See more
