Description | 1 ) Playground Mulch shall consist of manufactured wood chips or engineered wood fibers . 2 ) A letter from the manufacturer and a copy of current certification verifying compliance with ASTM F2075 and ASTM F1292 requirements must be submitted with the bid . 3 ) “ Triple Shredded ” mulch shall be free of metal , foreign objects , yard waste , tree debris , weeds , and insects . 4 ) No chromated copper arsenate ( CCA )– treated wood shall be used in the production ; Installation of Playground Mulch 1 . Upon completion of installation and prior to leaving the campus , all areas shall be left neat and clean . 2 . All pavement and curbing shall be cleared of mulch , and no mulch shall be hanging on , caught in , or lodged within playground equipment or other features within the play area . 3 . Installation shall be measured and paid for by the cubic yard and may be performed manually or by mechanical means , subject to approval by the Wake County Public School System . 4 . Should damage be made to playground boarders during installation of Playground Mulch , replacement borders can be obtained at the WCPSS Facility located at 1551 Rock Quarry Road , Raleigh North Carolina 27610 . |
