The unit is to be an automated flagger assistance device designed to control both ends of a work zone with one wireless handheld controller . _____________ _____________ The unit shall use a 900 MHz spread spectrum frequency . _____________ _____________ There shall be a total of two ( 2 ) trailer mounted flagger stations each with the capability to display either a red ( stop ) light or an amber ( slow ) light . _____________ _____________ Red and amber lights shall be LED - 12 ”, minimum , _____________ _____________ Both flagging stations shall be capable of being towed simultaneously to the worksite with a single ¾ ton pickup at highway speeds . _____________ _____________ The trailers shall be incorporated into the AFAD design to allow for easy deployment of the flagger stations by a single operator . _____________ _____________ The unit shall have a red and white retro reflective gate arm that is deployed in the down position when in STOP mode and raises when traffic is released into the work zone . The gate arm shall be approximately 88 inches long and 2 inches wide .
