Project Description : Generally , the project consists of major infrastructure improvements focused on the western half of the property from Frontage Road to Farm Drive . It also includes several minor infrastructure repairs east of Farm Drive on the ‘ wholesale ’ side of the facility . The bulk of the work consists of a very large underground detention facility and new infrastructure corridors along 1st Street , 1st Ave , 16th Ave , and Farm Drive . Additionally , a new secure paved truck / trailer parking area is proposed between 1st Street and Frontage Road in the vicinity of the underground detention facility . These repairs and upgrades must be systematically installed while the Market maintains its daily operations . A . Stormwater – The stormwater infrastructure improvements include a 1 . 8 million cubic foot concrete underground detention vault system comprised of proprietary modules connected to a new trunkline system . Due to the system capacity , it is expected that the contractor will be required to install and backfill portions in phases utilizing staging areas provided . The trunkline system is within the main corridor network and consists of reinforced concrete piping ranging from 18 inch to 96 inch and one section of 8 ’ x8 ’ rectangular box culvert . All existing storm sewer structures and piping no longer in use must be excavated and removed from the site . All storm sewer pipes must be constructed in accordance with all Clayton County Water Authority ( CCWA ) specifications and standards , latest edition . i . Construction of storm drain to include over 100 drainage structures ii . Construction of storm piping to include over 7 , 000 linear feet ( LF ) of storm pipe ranging in size from 18 ” diameter to 96 ” x96 ” box culvert . iii . Construction of over 1 . 8 million cubic feet of concrete underground detention . iv . Excavation and replacement / backfill of over 65 , 000 cubic yards ( CY ) of earthwork material for installation of the detention facility . v . Excavation and removal from site of over 100 , 000 CY of material for installation of the detention facility . vi . Excavation and removal of over 8 , 000 LF of storm pipe . B . Sanitary Sewer – The sanitary system improvements include a new trunkline system including PVC and ductile iron piping ( DIP ) from 8 to 12 inch in diameter within the consolidated utility corridors . The new sanitary system must be connected to approximately 20 existing buildings , some with multiple lateral connections , while maintaining operations of the facilities . The existing sanitary lines no longer in use must be excavated and removed from the site . It is anticipated that all sanitary sewer mains are to be public and could be dedicated to the CCWA at project completion and must be constructed in accordance with all CCWA specifications and standards , latest edition . i . Construction of sanitary manholes to include over 30 drainage structures ii . Construction of sanitary piping to include over 5 , 000 LF of sewer pipe ranging in size from 8 inch to 12 - inch diameter . iii . Construction of sanitary lateral piping to include over 1 , 000 LF of 6 ” sewer pipe . iv . Excavation and removal of over 6 , 000 LF of sanitary sewer mains and service lines . C . Water Distribution – The water distribution system includes a new loop throughout the proposed utility corridors . The existing master meter and original cast iron water network is to be completely replaced . The new mains consist of 8 - and 12 - inch ductile iron piping while service connections range from 2 - inch to 6 - inches in size . New connections , including new meters and backflow preventers , are to be provided to approximately 20 buildings within the project area with the only notable exclusion being Building T . All existing water lines no longer in use shall be excavated and removed from the site . It is anticipated that all water mains are to be public and could be dedicated to the CCWA at project completion and must be constructed in accordance with all CCWA specifications and standards , latest edition . i . Construction of over 6 , 000 LF of 8 inch and 12 - inch DIP water main . ii . Construction of over 4 , 000 LF of 2 inch through 6 - inch water service lines . iii . Construction of multiple tapping sleeve and valve connections to existing mains . iv . Construction of multiple fire hydrants . v . Construction of multiple 2 - inch meters and backflow preventers . vi . Construction of over 100 tees , valves , and bends . vii . Removal of over 11 , 000 LF of existing water mains and service lines .
