Background of the Project ProcurementThe fiber optic cable of the Government Network (GovNet) in Metro Manila of theDepartment of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) providesinternet connectivity through fiber optic cable to government agencies thatinclude National Government Agencies (NGA), Government-Owned andControlled Corporations (GOCC), State Universities and Colleges (SUC), LocalGovernment Unit (LGU), Government Financial Institutions (GFI), GovernmentHospitals, and Legislative branches of the government (Senate and House ofRepresentatives) and other government entities.The project aims to provide (FOC) Network supplies and materials for theDepartment of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – FiberOptic Cable (FOC) Network Operation and Maintenance in the RegionalGovernment Center located in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. This is to providesufficient supplies for rectification and addition of new FOC to existing and newGovernment Network (GovNet) for 2023 provisions.2. Project Goal and ObjectivesTo provide quality and sufficient supplies and materials for the FOC network forthe continuous operation and maintenance of the DICT-FOC network.The objective of having quality and sufficient FOC network supplies and materialsof the GovNet facilities is to fulfill the DICT’s mandate to ensure the provision ofstrategic, reliable, cost-efficient, and citizen-centric information andcommunications technology (ICT) infrastructure, systems, and resources asinstruments of good governance and global competitiveness.
