Description

The City of Carson is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide full mechanical , electrical , structural , and controls engineering services to develop a microgrid and comprehensive HVAC facility upgrades to enable operation of the site as a cooling center . Services must include the design and integration of microgrid components , anticipated to consist of solar photovoltaic ( PV ) systems ( both roof - mounted and carport / canopy - mounted ), battery storage systems , microgrid controls , switchgear , electrical infrastructure upgrades , and upgrades of the existing diesel generator to a natural gas generator , all coordinated to operate as a unified system . The microgrid shall be sized and designed to support the facility ' s operation as a cooling center , including HVAC systems and essential functions , and shall not be limited solely to minimum critical loads .
