Description | Basic Services provided shall include , but are not limited to the following : A . Review proposed alignment and line sizing for the waterline improvements . B . Ensure that all projects are designed and constructed in accordance with Section 1 . 5 of the City of Topeka Design Criteria and Drafting Standards , the City of Topeka and Shawnee County Standard Technical Specifications , and Chapter VIII of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment ( KDHE ) Policies , General Considerations and Design Requirements for Public Water Supply Systems in Kansas . C . Meet with City staff at critical stages throughout design and construction of projects to answer questions and provide D . Provide hydraulic modeling analysis of the City ’ s distribution system utilizing the City ’ s Computer Hydraulic Model to make recommendations on water main replacement locations and sizing , water main extensions to serve new development and improvements , or analysis for system optimization in any of the five ( 5 ) pressure zones . E . Provide training for professional development of Utility Department water staff . F . Provide technical advice to Utility Department water staff on distribution system issues including repairs , construction , pressure , flow , and fire protection . G . Review plans for development projects to ensure compliance with City and KDHE standards and constructability . |
