Public and Personal Safety Training (PPST) Level 2 training is undertaken by other similar organisations including the Home Office and provides physical training to staff conducting a public facing role, to be able to de-escalate and defend themselves and withdraw from a conflict situation. This learning was approved by the Commercial Board in August 2025 and is now part of BAU training events for the appropriate ESOC staff. ESOC operational staff are responsible for tackling serious and organised crime. This includes undertaking operational visits with partners (Police, OGDs) to residential and commercial addresses to execute warrants, arrest suspect, search premises, seize evidence, transport evidence and conduct interviews under caution in Custody.
