Description | IMRB (Independent Mortality Review Board) Provide a qualified, licensed Medical Doctor with experience providing services to people with intellectual disabilities and extensive knowledge of Department of Developmental Services (DDS) policies and regulations to serve as Medical Consultant for the DDS Independent Mortality Review Board (IMRB). As part of a mortality review process, IMRB reviews the death of anyone for whom DDS has direct oversight responsibility for medical care in order to improve the care of individuals in the future. 2. Review each case submitted to the IMRB to evaluate the quality of primary and specialty medical care provided to the individual supported by DDS. 3. Review the events, overall care, quality of life issues and medical care preceding the individuals’ death. 4. Review approximately 45-55 mortality cases each year. 5. Attend five (5) IMRB meetings each year. The IMRB meets every other month on the 2nd Friday of the month (no meeting in December); a typical meeting lasts 4-6 hours. |
