SCOPE OF WORK OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE : This contract is to replace trees that have died for District 8 Bureau of Operations . The vendor shall be responsible for planting and maintaining trees in various location in District 8 . SUPPLIES AND / OR SERVICES REQUIRED : 1 . 2 . 1 . Vendor shall furnish , deliver , and install all trees as the specified in the project plans and specifications . All work shall be performed in a professional manner and in accordance with applicable industry standards , local ordinances , and manufacturer or nursery recommendations . 1 . 3 . 2 . Trees shall be planted at the locations shown in the line item of BidBuy and in accordance with accepted horticultural practices , including : Proper excavation of planting holes Correct depth placement with root flare visible at finished grade Backfilling with approved soil and amendments as specified Soil compaction sufficient to eliminate air pockets without damaging root systems . 1 . 3 . 3 . Vendor shall thoroughly water all tress immediately upon planting . Vendor shall also provide watering for as long as needed following the date of planting . Watering shall be sufficient to promote healthy root establishment . 1 . 3 . 4 . Vendor shall provide bracing or stakes for those trees that are needing bracing over the duration of the contract . Bracing shall : Be installed in a manner that provides stability while allowing for natural trunk movement . Use materials that will not damage bark . Vendor shall remove all bracing materials after twelve ( 12 ) months or upon satisfactory establishment of the trees , whichever occurs first . 1 . 3 . 5 . Vendor shall warrant all trees against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of twelve ( 12 ) months for the date of planting . Trees that fail to survive within the warranty period , excluding damage caused by vandalism , acts of God , or improper maintenance by others shall be replaced and maintained for additional twelve ( 12 ) months at no cost to the State of Illinois . 1 . 3 . 6 . Final acceptance of the trees shall occur upon completion of planting and watering . Survival beyond the warranty period shall constitute full and final acceptance .
