Scope of Work The program ' s primary objective is to expand the existing waste sorting initiative into a fullfledged program that enhances community engagement , increases awareness , and decreases waste contamination . Specific objectives include : • Engaging community members in effective waste sorting practices . • Training volunteers to staff Waste Stations and promote recycling . • Conducting multicultural outreach and community surveys . • Partnering with the City ’ s Parks and Community Services Department and other event organizers . Work to achieve these goals may include : • Program Design and Management o Develop a comprehensive program plan based on the 2025 pilot . o Create a curriculum for volunteer training on waste sorting and recycling awareness . • Volunteer Training and Coordination o Recruit and train volunteers to staff Waste Stations at community events . o Ensure volunteers are equipped with effective strategies to enhance public engagement and reduce waste contamination . • Community Engagement and Outreach o Implement multicultural outreach strategies to involve diverse community groups . o Facilitate partnerships with local departments and event organizers . • Program Implementation and Monitoring o Oversee the operation of Waste Stations at various community events . o Collect and analyze data through community surveys and waste measurement . Outcomes The consultant will be expected to prepare a report on outcomes , in compliance with WRR grant guidelines . Per the City ’ s WRR grant the City has a goal of the following by the end of the contract term . • Number of public events attended . • Number of community members engaged with at events . • Number of pounds of each waste stream generated at each event . • Number of pounds of waste diverted from landfill . • Number of volunteers trained and volunteer hours . • Community survey data collected and analyzed .
