Description
Description | Georgia College & State University (GCSU) seeks to utilize the competitively awarded OMNIA Partners cooperative purchasing contract R230701 to procure 28 refurbished Hillrom Centrella medical-surgical beds item # 04-50-7900-REFURB for use in the University's existing Simulation Center and Skills Lab. The beds requested aligns with the GREAT Health Program: GCSU Training Expansion grant and are essential to the achievement of the grant's core objectives. This equipment will serve as the foundation for both the expansion of simulation training and the increase in nursing faculty simulation competency described in the grant objectives, functioning as the infrastructure through which every subsequent objective is delivered. The proposed procurement through OMNIA Partners is supported by the availability of an existing cooperative contract awarded through a publicly advertised competitive solicitation process. The underlying solicitation, conducted by Region 4 Education Service Center on behalf of OMNIA Partners, was publicly posted and made available to prospective suppliers. The solicitation record indicates that 72 vendors registered to receive the solicitation documents, three vendors submitted proposals, all three proposals were evaluated, and Pocket Nurse Enterprises, LLC was selected for award. These figures demonstrate that the original procurement provided an opportunity for competition and that the award resulted from an evaluation of competing proposals rather than an identified sole-source process. Accordingly, utilizing the awarded cooperative contract offers GCSU a procurement option supported by an established competitive solicitation and evaluation process. |
