The selected consultant will be responsible for the following tasks and will produce the corresponding deliverables : 4 . 2 . 1 . Task 1 : Current State Assessment & Data Compilation - The consultant will compile and analyze existing data to establish a baseline understanding of the region ' s current water resources , infrastructure , and usage patterns . • Deliverable 1 . 1 : Data Inventory & Gap Analysis Report : o Content : A comprehensive inventory of all relevant existing data pertaining to water supply , demand , quality , and infrastructure within the Regional Planning Area ( s ). This will include ( but not be limited to ):  Water Supply : Historical streamflow records , groundwater level data , aquifer levels ( e . g ., sustainable yield from existing models and data ), reservoir capacities and yields , and existing water rights / permits .  Water Demand : Current water use / demand for all major uses of water in the region ( s ) as well as statutorily required minimum desirable streamflow ; existing population figures for communities .  Water Quality : Recent and historical water quality monitoring data for surface and groundwater sources ( e . g ., contaminant levels , nutrient loads , TDS ).  Infrastructure : Existing water treatment plant capacities , distribution system maps , and known infrastructure condition assessments . o Gap Analysis : Identification of critical data gaps and recommendations for future data collection efforts necessary for robust long - term planning . 4 . 2 . 2 . Task 2 : 50 - Year Water Supply & Demand Projections - The consultant will develop robust projections for water availability and water demand over a 50 - year planning horizon ( e . g ., 2025 - 2075 ). • Deliverable 2 . 1 : 50 - Year Water Supply Projections Report . o Content : Detailed projections of long - term water availability from all significant sources ( surface water , groundwater ) within the region ( s ). This must incorporate :  Drought Resiliency : Assessment of water supply reliability under extreme drought scenarios , including increases in the severity of the drought by 10 % ( e . g ., reducing precipitation of the historical drought of record for Kansas ).  Sustainable Yields : Determination of the reliability of groundwater aquifers to meet future demands , considering current and projected pumping rates .  Water Quality Impacts on Supply : Analysis of how projected water quality degradation ( e . g ., taste , odor , Safe Drinking Water Act - regulated contaminants ) might diminish the usable supply without additional treatment . • Deliverable 2 . 2 : 50 - Year Water Demand Projections Report . o Content : Comprehensive projections of future water demand across all sectors within the region ( s ), encompassing :  Population Trends : Utilization of state - approved population forecasts for all communities and unincorporated areas and projected associated water demands .  Economic & Land Use Trends : Projections for industrial , commercial , and agricultural water use based on economic development and land use plans .  Conservation Potential : Analysis of potential water savings through enhanced conservation measures in each sector ...
