Description | The Kansas Water Office is seeking a qualified consulting firm to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the long - term water supply and clean water needs for communities within the Equus - Walnut Regional Planning Area . The Equus - Walnut Regional Planning Area encompasses all or part of the counties of Butler , Cowley , Harvey , McPherson , Marion , Reno , Rice , Sedgwick , and Sumner . Maps and information on the Regional Planning Area boundaries can be found at : https :// www . kwo . ks . gov / aboutus / regional - advisory - committees Additional information on the Equus - Walnut Regional Planning area can be found at : https :// www . kwo . ks . gov / about - us / regional - advisory - committees / equus - walnut - regional - advisory - committee The objective of this project is to provide a clear , actionable roadmap which advances Kansas Water Plan ( 2022 ) and Kansas Water Plan Implementation Framework ( 2024 ) progress for communities in the Equus - Walnut Regional Planning Area to adequately supply clean , reliable water for the next 50 years , considering projected demands , climate variability , long - term cost effectiveness , and water quality challenges . This assessment will serve as a foundational document for future regional water planning , project pipeline development and investment . |
