This Project consists of the removal of the existing hydronic heating equipment and the installation of a new radiant heating distribution system serving the Renaissance Center Building located on the City Center Campus of Joliet Junior College . The Work includes removal of the existing boilers , cast - iron radiators , and associated hydronic piping systems and the installation of a new radiant heating system consisting of fin tube radiation , radiant ceiling panels , circulation pumps , hydronic piping distribution , thermostats , pressure independent control valves , destratification fans , and integration with the existing Building Automation System ( BAS ). The radiant heating system shall be connected to the existing condensing boiler loop located within the City Center Building and shall provide stable and energy - efficient heating distribution throughout the Renaissance Center facility . The Contractor shall install fin tube radiators along perimeter zones and radiant ceiling panels within interior zones in order to provide balanced radiant heat distribution . The Work further includes installation of four ceiling tile – type destratification fans within the atrium space to reduce vertical temperature stratification and improve thermal distribution during heating and cooling seasons . Where piping installation requires modifications to existing ceiling systems or interior finishes , the Contractor shall remove and reinstall ceiling grids , ceiling tiles , floor tiles , carpet systems , and other architectural finishes as necessary to complete the Work . All disturbed finishes shall be restored to a condition equal to or better than the original installation . The Project includes all labor , materials , equipment , controls , coordination , protection , demolition , installation , testing , commissioning , documentation , and Owner training necessary to deliver a complete , code - compliant , fully operational , and Owner - accepted hydronic heating system . The purpose of this Project is to improve temperature management throughout the Renaissance Center building , eliminate inefficiencies associated with the existing heating system , and provide a modern radiant heating system capable of maintaining stable environmental conditions appropriate for operational building loads . All Work shall be performed within an active campus environment and shall be coordinated with the Owner to minimize disruption to campus operations .
