Replacements Parts for Optical Remote Sensing - Mobile Lab

South Coast AQMD has been operating an Optical Remote Sensing Mobile Laboratory ( ORS - ML ) manufactured by FluxSense , Inc . since 2019 for the purpose of conducting ambient air quality monitoring within the Los Angeles Basin . The platform is equipped with a suite of extractive and passive optical remote sensing instrumentation . The extractive instrumentation includes a Mobile Extractive Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy ( MeDOAS ) system operating in the ultraviolet ( UV ) spectral region for the measurement of benzene and other BTEX compounds , as well as a Mobile Extractive Fourier Transform InfraRed ( MeFTIR ) system operating in the infrared ( IR ) spectral region for the measurement of alkanes , methane and other volatile organic compounds ( VOCs ) and other pollutants . The passive optical instrumentation includes a DOAS system operating in the ultraviolet - visible ( UV - Vis ) spectral region for the measurement of column concentrations of formaldehyde , nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide , and a Solar Occultation Flux ( SOF ) system operating in the IR spectral region for the measurement of column concentration of alkanes . South Coast AQMD intends to procure replacement parts for specific components of the ORS - ML . Due to integration and operational requirements , the replacement parts must be fully compatible with the existing instrumentation , including physical interfaces , communication protocols , and software functionality .
