Description

Description

Eidsiva Bioenergi AS is a wholly owned company in the Eidsiva group and was established in 2007. The company operates, designs and constructs fully-owned and partially owned bioenergy installations, mainly in Innlandet County. The company is currently Norway's third largest district heating producer and produces approx. 475 GWh per annum. Eidsiva has set ambitious targets for sustainability and by 2030 shall have 100% renewable district heating production, without the use of fossil oil and gas, as well as reduce their own emissions by 60%. As a part of this work, carbon capture and storage (CCS) at Eidsiva Bioenergis waste incineration plant at Trehørningen energy centre outside Hamar. Eidsiva Bioenergi wants to map the market to identify suppliers who can offer carbon capture and permanent storage of CO2 as a service (CCS as a service). The deadline for input is 30 September 2026. In this context, "CCS as a service" refers to the business model in which the supplier assumes responsibility for establishing, financing, and operating carbon capture facilities, as well as managing the transport and permanent storage of captured CO2 from the Trehørningen energy center. Eidsiva Bioenergi procures in such a model a service connected to capture and permanent storage of CO2 based on further agreed commercial and technical terms. The tenderer is required to handle the downstream value chain for storing biogeneous CO2, including the sale of CDR (carbon removal credits).
