Purpose of RFP . The purpose of this Request for Proposals ( RFP ) is to solicit proposals to enter into a contract with a qualified vendor to obtain back - up dependent care services , including back - up childcare ( in - home and / or center - based ), elder care , pet care , and family support solutions for employees of the University of Utah , hereafter referred to as the " University ." The University intends to explore comprehensive , scalable , and cost - effective solutions that support the diverse needs of our faculty , staff , and students across multiple campus locations . The vendor selected through this RFP may also be contracted to provide childcare center management or other services related to childcare at the University ’ s discretion . Respondents must agree to negotiate in good faith for additional services . The companies submitting proposals in response to this RFP will hereafter be referred to as “ Vendor .” The University is examining several alternatives of providing this back - up dependent care services and may decide , after reviewing proposals submitted , not to enter into any agreement .
