Residential Solid Waste and Recycling Services

The City of Mountain Park is soliciting proposals from qualified waste removal contractors for weekly collection of trash and recycle for city residents . Currently , the city provides service to 297 homes located on 8 miles of roadway , backdoor pickups ( bins are retrieved from the home and returned to the home instead of left on the curb ) for 8 homes and curbside yard waste service ( includes up to 3 bags of loose yard waste or bundles with diameters no larger than 2 feet of up to 4 inch diameter sticks cut to 3 foot length ). Currently our trash , recycling and yard waste is picked up curbside on a weekly basis every Monday . The Contractor will be responsible for providing trash and recycle bins for residents to use . The city is looking for proposals that offer weekly curbside recycling with trash service and back door service pick up . Additional services we may be interested in and would like to receive quotes for are yard waste , bulk item curbside service and a quarterly or bi - annual dumpster service for citizens . Please break down any additional cost for these services in your proposal and provide specific details on how the dumpster service will be managed on the days it is provided . Trucks used to collect trash should be single axle only to save our narrow city streets from further wear and tear and for the truck to access all streets to homes in the city . All vehicles shall prevent the leakage of any fluids or littering of collected materials on the city streets and it shall be the responsibility of the contractor to clean the street of fluid and pick up litter if they occur while performing services in the city .
