RIVERWALK BULKHEAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

The Westin bulkhead and riverwalk is located downstream ( east ) of the Savanah Convention Center . The bulkhead and riverwalk structure is approximately 800 feet long . The Westin bulkhead has experienced some fill loss behind a portion of its bulkhead that is in need of repair or replacement and in some areas horizontal movement of the bulkhead . The engineering firm will identify the cause of fill loss and assess the condition of existing bulkhead . The firm shall provide recommendations for further inspections or repair / replacement options and management of repair . All engineering services shall be performed in compliance with all local , State , and Federal laws , regulations , and executive orders as applicable and required . The Engineer shall : • Perform initial surveys , soil investigations , etc . as needed for design ; • Prepare design plans and specifications ; • Apply for and receive all necessary approvals , permits and environmental letters from federal , state , and local agencies ; • Provide an engineer ’ s cost estimate with quantities and line item costs ; • Prepare bid package and manage bidding process ; • Provide construction administration ; and • Prepare record drawings and provide in digital format .
