Description
Description | 1 . Contractor shall pick up litter along both sides of the designated roadways . Timing and scheduling of litter pickup will be established with selected vendor during the contract process . Work shall be scheduled and approved by Public Works . 2 . Contractor shall provide on - call service within 72 hours to provide litter pickup on an as - needed basis . All work shall be approved by Public Works prior to litter pickup . 3 . Litter shall be collected within the DOT ’ s right - of - way only . 4 . Litter must be disposed of at the Surry County Landfill in Mount Airy . Contractor shall separately invoice Surry County the cost of disposal documented in weight tickets from the landfill with no mark up . All other costs , including but not limited to transportation , labor , and profit shall be included in the individual road segment pricing . 5 . Contractor shall display proper safety signage to warn general public of litter pickup activities as defined by the latest version of the Manual on Traffic Control Devices ( MUTCD ). |
