TILE REMOVAL AND STORAGE ● Carefully remove existing Spanish clay roof tiles . ● Stack and store tiles on the roof in an organized and secure manner to prevent breakage . ● Protect stacked tiles from damage during construction . ● Replace broken or damaged tiles with new tiles matching existing in profile , color , and texture . ● Provide additional new tiles as required to correct tile course overlap deficiencies . REPAIR UNDER SKYLIGHTS ● Remove roofing materials at all skylight locations . ● Inspect and repair roof sheathing as required . ● Repair all roofing deficiencies under and around skylights . ● Provide new waterproofing and flashing systems at all skylight penetrations . ROOF DECK PREPARATION ● Remove and dispose of all existing underlayment ( felt / paper ). ● Inspect roof sheathing for deterioration , dry rot , or structural damage . ● Notify the District Representative of any damage prior to repair . ● Replace damaged sheathing with like material and thickness . FULL ICE AND WATER SHIELD INSTALLATION ● Install new self - adhered Ice and Water Shield membrane over 100 % of the roof deck surface . ● Membrane shall be high - temperature rated and approved for use beneath clay tile roofing systems . ● Installation shall cover the entire roof deck , not limited to valleys , eaves , rakes , or penetrations . ● Install membrane in strict accordance with manufacturer specifications to provide a continuous waterproof barrier . ● Seal all laps , penetrations , and terminations watertight .
