A . Contractor shall perform complete roof replacement for the Alturas MS , Office Crew Room ( approximately 5 , 630 square feet ( sq . ft .)). B . Contractor shall verify measurements prior to the start of work . C . Contractor shall refer to Caltrans 2025 Standard Specifications where applicable . D . Contractor shall perform the following task after receiving a Notice to Proceed from Caltrans Contract Manager in writing : 1 ) Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of the old Corrugated Metal Roofing System . 2 ) Contractor shall ensure insulation is not exposed to precipitation or left exposed at the end of each workday . If any damage is done to the existing insulation , insulation shall be fixed and installed according to the manufacturer ’ s recommendation . 3 ) Contractor shall provide a minimum of 24 - gauge Metal Standing Seam Roof . 4 ) Contractor is responsible for pitch , snow load , and rib height per manufacturer standards . 5 ) Contractor shall ensure that the roofing colors closely match one of the roofing colors present on existing structures . If no other structure is present , stand - alone structure , forest green is preferred . Color matching and roofing colors shall be determined and approved by Caltrans Contract Manager prior to the commencement of work . 6 ) Contractor shall ensure that snow bar systems , per manufacturer instructions , are to be omitted . 7 ) Contractor shall remove all flashings , counterflashing , pipe flashings , vents , and like components necessary for new installation . 8 ) Contractor shall remove all four ( 4 ) round turbine roof vents and replace them with four ( 4 ) passive ridge caps for ventilation . 9 ) Contractor shall ensure that areas with unfinished roofing will not be exposed to precipitation or left exposed at the end of each workday . 10 ) Contractor shall use new fasteners to properly secure the new Standing Seam Metal Roof . 11 ) Contractor shall provide all required materials to replace the roofing and ridge caps . 12 ) Contractor shall provide product warranty / guarantee paperwork to Caltrans Contract Manager with final billing paperwork . E . Contractor shall complete and invoice all work within four ( 4 ) months of the Notice to Proceed unless approved in writing by Caltrans Contract Manager .
