The project has been initiated to develop a collocated 72 bed facility at the Bindaree site owned by Mansfield District Hospital along Highett Street in Mansfield. The development will replace the existing 30 bed high-care Buckland House facility, provide expanded communal facilities for residents as well as new back of house facilities and infrastructure to support both the PSRACS and the future hospital site.    The project is proposed to be completed in three stages:   Stage 1: Bindaree Retirement Centre (New Build) Demolition of West Independent Living Unit, site preparation works and service relocations. Construction of new 30 bed PSRACS facility and 8 bed extension to the existing Bindaree Retirement Centre and Back of House facilities. Refurbishment of 4 existing beds in Bindaree Retirement Centre (Household C)   Stage 2: Bindaree Retirement Centre (Refurbishment) Refurbish the existing Bindaree Retirement Centre and construct new Front of House areas.   Stage 3: Buckland House Refurbish and repurpose selected areas of Buckland Nursing House to provide Community Health Facilities, Administration and Rehabilitation Facilities.   The project will be procured by the Department of Health in partnership with the Mansfield District Hospital (MDH). The funding for the project has been confirmed and will be provided by the Victorian Government as part of the 2022-2023 State Budget.
