Safe Streets and Roads for All ( SS4A ) Action Plan

The City of Augusta , Kansas ( the “ City ”), is requesting Statements of Qualifications from qualified professional consulting firms to assist the City in developing a comprehensive Transportation Safety Action Plan under the U . S . Department of Transportation ’ s Safe Streets and Roads for All ( SS4A ) Grant Program , administered by the Federal Highway Administration ( FHWA ). This project is funded in whole or in part with federal funds . All procurement activities will be conducted in accordance with applicable federal , state , and local laws , regulations , and policies , including requirements for qualifications - based selection ( QBS ). The resulting Transportation Safety Action Plan must meet all SS4A Action Plan eligibility requirements and position the City to pursue future SS4A implementation funding . The selected consultant will work with City staff to prepare a Transportation Safety Action Plan that meets all SS4A Action Plan eligibility requirements and positions the City to pursue future SS4A implementation funding . Anticipated tasks include : • Analysis of crash data and identification of high - risk locations , including a High Injury Network • Evaluation of existing multimodal transportation infrastructure • Review of existing plans , policies , and ordinances • Public and stakeholder engagement • Development of a safety vision , goals , and performance measures • Identification and prioritization of safety strategies and projects • Planning - level cost estimates and implementation and funding strategies ; The scope will be refined with the selected consultant . The final Action Plan will be publicly available in accordance with SS4A requirements .
