Description | Winter Salt Delivered 2 , 500 Tons . RADATION : Salt shall conform to the following particle size distribution specifications as determined by laboratory sieves per ASTM D632 ( testing method is AASHTO T27 for gradation ): Passing a 2 " Sieve 100 % Passing a 3 / 8 " Sieve 95 %- 100 % Passing a No . 4 Sieve 20 %- 90 % Passing a No . 8 Sieve 10 %- 60 % Passing a No . 30 Sieve 0 %- 15 % MOISTURE REQUIREMENT : Moisture content shall be in a free - flowing condition when received at the delivery location with a moisture content not to exceed one percent ( 1 %), in accordance with AASHTO T255 . Material exceeding two and a half percent ( 2 . 5 %) moisture content and / or evidence of free - flowing water / brine may be rejected and returned to the supplier at the expense of the supplier . Town Of Hartford reserves the right to reject all deliveries for the day . Visible moisture leakage from the delivery vehicle will be cause for immediate rejection of the load . |
