School Trips and School Nurse Substitutes

SCOPE OF SERVICE The selected nursing service provider will provide substitute public school nursing services for all students while school programs are in session , and it is required to have a school nurse present pursuant to New Jersey State Law . If one provider cannot service all students , a second provider will also be selected . Services to be included : 1 . On an as needed basis provide school nurses for school building during hours of operation to administer school nursing services as requested . The Board of Education would prefer to have the same person report to the building when a long - term substitute is required 2 . Daily , provide substitutes if a nurse is not available . 3 . Provide nursing coverage for School trips when required to have a school nurse present . 4 . Administer appropriate treatments for students who visit the school nurse to include but not limited to feeling ill , bumps / bruises / cuts , allergic reactions , and issuance of appropriate medications . 5 . Maintain , update , and safeguard student medical information as required by New Jersey State Law . 6 . Conduct job duties in compliance with Elizabeth School District Policy and New Jersey State Law . 7 . Assist district school nurses with various tasks / duties .
