SECURITY SERVICES FOR PARKS AND RECREATION FACILITIES AND EVENTS ( ANNUAL CONTRACT )

I . SCOPE The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to provide quality programs , events , sporting events and other recreational avenues for the citizens we serve . Towards this , on site ( armed ) security is needed for facilities , programs and events that include but are not limited to : swim meets , park events , recreational programs , city - wide events , holiday events , etc . II . LOCATIONS , EVENTS AND DUTIES A . AQUATICS A . 1 OUTDOOR POOLS Schedule : Five days a week ( Wednesday through Sunday ) at each outdoor pool during the summer season , excluding holidays and closures for maintenance , etc . Psalmond Road – 6550 Psalmond Road , Columbus , GA Shirley Winston – 5025 Steam Mill Road , Columbus , GA Rigdon – 1600 Howe Avenue , Columbus , GA Double Churches Pool – 1213 Double Churches Road , Columbus GA Outdoor pool season is ten ( 10 ) weeks in the summer months , usually starting in May and ending in late August . Security will also be used on an as needed basis for special events outside of normal operating hours . One ( 1 ) guard shall be provided at each of the four outdoor pools during the following hours : Wednesday through Friday 11 : 30 am – 6pm Saturday and Sunday 10 : 30 am – 7pm A . 1 . 1 DUTIES 1 . At the beginning of each shift , the guard shall check in at the front entry desk to determine who the person in charge ( PIC ) is for the duration of the shift . 2 . In addition to the requirements listed here , the guard will follow all directions and instructions issued by the PIC . 3 . The Aquatics Division Manager and the Parks and Recreation Deputy Director will also be in this chain of command and at times will run the four outdoor pools . 4 . The guard shall regularly patrol the entire public area of the building and pool deck at least twice per hour , paying special attention to areas that are out of direct sightlines , including meeting rooms , restrooms , and hallways , etc . 5 . The guard shall patrol and monitor the exterior of the building and parking lot at least once per hour . 6 . The guard shall assist staff in the event of an emergency , including helping with vacating and securing the facility when an evacuation of the entire facility is required . 7 . The guard shall notify PIC if they observe any unattended children on the pool deck or in the pool as per the rules of the facilities . 8 . The guard shall report all behavior inconsistent with the Rules of Conduct that are posted at every facility . 9 . The guard shall immediately report any illegal activity to the PIC , who will call management staff to handle appropriate action and will contact local Sherriff or Police Departments if appropriate . 10 . In situations where staff or customers are in immediate danger and the PIC is not readily available , the guard will phone 911 . 11 . At the close of the facility and after the public has exited , the guard shall check the entire building , all pools and the pool deck to ensure the entire facility has been cleared of customers and is secure . 12 . After closing and securing the building the guard shall escort the remaining staff to the parking lot and remain until all staff safely depart . 13 . Good customer service is the goal of all Columbus Parks and Recreation facilities . All customers should be treated with respect . If the guard has any questions or if there is an incident , they are to contact the PIC . 14 . Security will also be used on an as needed basis for special events that may occur during normal business hours or outside of normal operating hours . A . 2 COLUMBUS AQUATIC CENTER The Columbus Aquatic Center is located at 1603 Midtown Drive , Columbus , GA 31905 Schedule : Year - round at the Columbus Aquatic Center to exclude holidays or closures for maintenance , etc . Six days a week ( Monday through Saturday ) from 3pm to 8pm weekdays , and 10am to 3pm on Saturdays .
