Water and Sewer Department Sewer Pump Emergency Response and Preventive Maintenance Program For North Beach and Holgate Pump Stations and Bayview Park , Maryland Ave , 13th Street , W29th Street , Harbor Drive and W81st Street Storm Water Pump Stations Check condition of control enclosure . Check electrical conditions of insulation on power cable and all phases of motor windings . Check for any loose or faulty electrical connections at splice box or control , conditions of pump cable . Test control voltage , supply transformer . Test seal fail module . Test Mini - CAS and submeg relays . Check conditions of control wiring . Check control contacts . Check voltage supply on line side of control panel ; pump off . Check voltage on load side of control panel ; pump on . Check amperage draw of pump motor . Check upper shaft seals , condition of stator housing and listen for bearing noise . Check thermals and leak sensors , if so required . Check lower shaft seals ; change oil , if necessary . Check impeller for wear ; re - torque , if necessary . Check wear rings . Test mix flush valve . Check discharge connection for leaks . Check operation of check valve . Check operation of gate valve . Clean and test level sensors . Check alarm functions , if required . Check generator transfer , if required . Reset control to automatic operation .
