The University of Wisconsin - Madison Grounds Department is requesting bids for the purchase of a Sidewalk Sweeper ( Bucher City Cat Model V20 or equivalent ). TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS General Vehicle must be a purpose - built vacuum sweeper . Vehicle must be delivered to 502 Herrick Dr ., Madison , WI 53706 . Bid price must include cost of freight . Contractor should be capable of delivering vehicle within 120 days from bid award . Training must be provided to UW Grounds staff upon delivery of vehicle . Bid price must include cost of training . Vehicle Vehicle must have enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning . Cab must have seating to hold two people . Unit must be equipped with windshield wipers . Vehicle must have work lights on front / sides of the machine and strobe on the front , back and top of machine to provide safety while in operation . Vehicle speed must be at least 20 MPH to travel on campus roads . Vehicle dimensions : must be no wider than 52 ” and no taller than 80 ”. Machine must have articulated steering to maneuver the tight spaces of campus to be cleaned ( 4 - wheel steering will not be considered ). The vehicle must have a rearview safety camera . Vehicle must include either an error code scanner device or come equipped with advanced internal diagnostic system to allow for troubleshooting by UW personnel . Vehicle should have an AM / FM radio . Engine Vehicle must run on diesel fuel or gasoline ( propane , battery , or electric options will not be considered ). Surface Cleaning System Must have a 3rd cleaning brush in the front for larger sweeping coverage . Must have water capability to keep dust down while sweeping . Must be a vacuum unit to collect debris . Must have a hopper capacity of at least 2 . 5 cubic yards Must have a secondary / manual hose vacuum attachment at least 15 feet long for additional vacuuming needs ( i . e ., stairs or other inaccessible areas ). Must have a high - pressure washer attachment for additional cleaning needs . Sweeper brushes must be adaptable to receive Zarnoth brushes ( current UW sweeper brush distributer ). Machine must have a hydraulic high - dump mechanism capable of lifting hopper vertically to allow for elevated disposal of debris directly into waste collection trucks .
