Explanation of the need to be fulfilled by this item ( s ), how is it unique from all other options , and why it is the only one that can meet the specific needs of the department : SIMULIA is used by Aerospace Engineering , Industrial Engineering , and the Department of Sustainable Bioproducts for research . Faculty have ongoing research using SIMULIA . Models created for their research require SIMULIA to complete their work . Aerospace Engineering also uses the software for research . Faculty and students have developed a high level of expertise using SIMULIA . Also , they have generated simulation data for many cases which they need to use in future research . Department of Sustainable Bioproducts uses the software for research . 3 . Name of company / individual selling the item and why that source is the only possible source that can provide the required item ( s ): SIMULIA Academic Research Suite is only sold from a sole distributor ( Vias3D Academia ) |
