It is the intent of this specification to describe a rubber tired , diesel powered , vertical - lift type Skid Steer Loader with design characteristics and performance capabilities equivalent to the Gehl V275 series of skid loaders . This skid steer loader will be utilized by the Department of Sanitation on city streets for snow removal and clearing purposes , in addition to the various types of work that will be performed in lots and transfer stations citywide . The skid steer loader will be operating under severe operating conditions . All calculations supplied with this bid shall be based on the unit , as it is intended to be delivered to the City of New York . Any supplied calculations based on the manufacturer ’ s standard model will not be accepted if they differ from the machine actually supplied . All calculations will be verified by the Department of Sanitation Engineer prior to the Plans Meeting , and at the Pilot Inspection . The unit bid must be a current production model offered for sale in the United States , with no deviations or modifications to the skid steer loader ’ s main drivetrain components , or specification brochure , in order to meet the contract specification . The life cycle of this wheel Loader is ten ( 10 ) years . The prime contractor ’ s local factory authorized service facility must have been in business for a minimum of ( 5 ) years , and must have their own factory authorized mechanics on payroll .
