This Invitation for Bids ( IFB ) is issued to procure the goods or services , as specified in this Section from a contract between the successful bidder ( s ) and the State of Maryland (“ State ”): The Maryland Department of Health ( MDH or the Department ), Prevention and Health Promotion Administration , WIC Program , seeks a vendor to supply high - quality reusable snack bowl containers for distribution to pediatric WIC participants . The Maryland Department of Health ( MDH or the Department ), Women , Infants , and Children ( WIC ) Program is a federally funded program designed to support the nutritional and health needs of eligible pregnant , postpartum , and breastfeeding women , as well as infants and young children under the age of five . One of WIC ’ s key objectives is to promote and support healthy nutrition and feeding options for children due to numerous health benefits for the child . The Snack Bowl Container is designed to assist in transitioning toddlers to healthy larger WIC approved snacks , helping them develop essential fine motor skills while promoting healthy nutrition practices . Its reclosable lid and ergonomic handles provide a comfortable and secure grip , while the stable base helps minimize tipping and spills . By providing these snack bowl containers , the Maryland WIC Program aims to : 1 .
