The Government intends to procure , under only one responsible source , where no other suppliers or service will satisfy the agency requirements . The Naval Facilities Engineering Command , Hawaii is conducting market research to determine if other potential products / sources can provide for an aircraft hangar bay low level fire protection fixed foam solution discharge device that has the same requirements / specifications as the Grate Nozzle Model PK , manufactured by The Viking Corporation , 210 N Industrial Park Drive , Hastings , MI 49058 . The alternate product / source must meet the following requirements / specifications : Comply with Interim Technical Guidance ( ITG ) FY26 - 01 “ Acceptable Design Criteria for Low Level Fire Protection in Navy and Marine Corps Aircraft Hangar Facilities ” dated February 5 , 2026 . Provide low level water - only fire protection for an aircraft ignitable liquid fuel fire by spraying water using over the hangar bay floor to flush ignitable liquid fuel on the hangar bay floor into drainage trenches . The nozzles must utilize 70 degree , 180 degree , 250 degree , and 360 degree spray patterns discharged from a stainless steel nozzle installed flush with the hanger bay floor and integrated into an epoxy coated ductile iron solid trench cover . This notification is for market research purposes only and should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the U . S . Government to issue a solicitation , request for proposals , quotes or invitation for bids or award a contract .
