Southeast Yard Reconstruction Project

The Bureau of Engineering ( BOE ), Geotechnical Engineering Division ( GED ) is requesting a TO Proposal from a consulting firm ( Consultant ) for the proposed Southeast Yard Reconstruction Project ( Project ). The Project site , as shown on Figure 1 – Vicinity Map , is located on the east side of South ( S ) Main Street between 41 st Place and 43rd Street . The Project address is 4206 S Main Street , Los Angeles , CA 90037 . The Project site is located in a City designated “ methane zone .” As shown on Figure 2 – Site and Field Exploration Map , the Project site includes nine ( 9 ) separate parcels . Each parcel is approximately 450 feet long by 140 feet wide , and therefore , the total Project site area of approximately 63 , 000 square feet . The northern six ( 6 ) parcels are owned by the City ’ s Bureau of Street Services ( StreetsLA ) and the southern three ( 3 ) parcels are owned by the City ’ s Department of Recreation and Parks ( RAP ). The Project consists of demolishing the existing structures and replacing them with new ones . The existing and proposed structures are shown on Figure 2 . The Project also includes construction of parking and other site improvements . Tasks will consist of 1 ) preparation of a health and safety plan , 2 ) a pre - exploration site meeting and geophysical investigation , 3 ) methane evaluation , 4 ) geotechnical field exploration , 5 ) geotechnical laboratory testing , 6 ) preparation of a Geotechnical Data Report ( GDR ), and 7 ) preparation of methane design plans and specifications . The GED will make sure the site is accessible . A right - of - entry permit is required by the RAP . The GED is responsible for obtaining this permit . The Consultant shall provide all information required as part of the permit at no additional cost to the City . The TO proposal shall contain descriptions of the tasks and associated costs required by this TOS .
