Southern Nash Wastewater Improvements

Nash County desires to engage an Engineering Firm to assist with the design , permitting , bidding , and construction administration services needed to complete proposed wastewater infrastructure improvements in southern Nash County . These improvements are proposed to support development of a new middle school ( Southern Nash Middle School ) and renovations of the existing middle school to provide for a future elementary school . The new middle school is proposed to have a capacity of 1 , 100 students and is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2027 . The existing middle school will then be renovated and converted to an elementary school with an anticipated capacity of 700 students . Renovations to the building are expected to be completed such that the elementary school would open in the Fall of 2028 . To support these facilities , Nash County proposes to construct an offsite forcemain to support the new middle school and to expand the existing wastewater treatment plant owned and operated by Nash County Public Schools ( NCPS ) located adjacent to the existing middle school to provide wastewater treatment for both schools ( see exhibit below ). A preliminary evaluation of these improvements was completed by The Wooten Company in December 2025 and is available for reference .
