Description | The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County , also referred to as Anne Arundel County Public Schools or AACPS , is soliciting proposals for the 2026 / 2027 school year for a comprehensive curriculum and digital program for the self - contained special education programs that instruct students accessing the Alternate Academic Achievement Standards and will ultimately take the Dynamic Learning Maps ( DLM ) alternate state assessment . AACPS requests a program that not only aligns with the Alternate Academic Achievement Standards for all core content areas but also incorporates social , emotional , and behavioral skill development , has components to support transition skills , life skill development , communication , and sensory integration . The curriculum should have the ability to be taught in isolation in a self - contained program or as an accompanying resource for students accessing instruction in a general education setting alongside a tier 1 curriculum . The curriculum must incorporate grade - band appropriate content for students with significant cognitive disabilities . It also needs to provide materials in multiple formats ( print , digital , audio ) to meet diverse sensory and motor needs . It must include features such as large print , simplified language , visual supports , and compatibility with assistive technology . |
