Specification for Kaw Marine Dive

Successful Bidder shall dive and locate a 4 - inch and 10 - inch pipe located in the wall of the tailrace / discharge of the hydroelectric facility . Once the pipes are located , the bidder shall inspect the pipes the integrity of the pipes . If the pipes are deemed to be integrity sound , the bidder shall install inflatable plugs to prevent water from passing through . The purpose of the plugs is for the replacement of valves , quantity of 1 on the 4 - inch pipe and quantity of 1 on the 10 - inch pipe . These valves will be replaced by Thompson , a contractor for OMPA . The successful bidder will dive again to remove the inflatable plugs once the pipes are watered and equalized . The dive must be done in accordance with OSHA standards and divers must be certified through the Association of Diving Contractors International ( ADCI ) or an equivalent accreditation . Notes Dive team is expected to stay on site during the replacement of valves ( Approximately 3 days ) OMPA will dewater and water the 4 ” and 10 ” pipes Approximate dive depth of 30 feet Approximate horizontal distance of 14 feet .
