Assist the supervising SLP in implementing individualized speech and language therapy plans Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and language development . Provide a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech students . Provide direct therapy services to students as directed by the SLP Prepare therapy materials and activities to support student goals Document student performance and progress toward IEP goals Maintain accurate and timely service logs and records Support classroom integration of communication strategies Assist with screenings if needed ( but not interpretation of results ) Observe and report student behaviors and progress to the SLP Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA and district policies Participate in team meetings , when appropriate , as directed by the SLP Perform clerical duties such as scheduling , organizing materials , and filing Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by suggestions from the students ’ daily activities . Provide in - service education and serve as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech improvement . Provide information and support to parents and families when appropriate . Keep thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school - based speech services . Must be able to coordinate services with District provided or contracted SLPA .
