Description | Please note : This is a Sole Source Notification . Since 2014 , the CBIFS has used Hamilton Robotics STARlet instruments for the liquid - handling PCR set - up step of the DNA profiling process . Only Hamilton Robotics ' personnel are factory trained and are the only authorized service representatives . In addition , only Hamilton Robotics is the sole contract for escalation services . These services include factor expertise and possible replacement of major components if deemed necessary by Hamilton Company . A service contract with Hamilton Robotics will provide regular preventative maintenance on these instruments as well as provide fast , reliable service whenever CBIFS experiences any issues with the instrumentation . In addition , CBIFS will receive proprietary software upgrades on the STARlet instruments . |
