Description | The project will convert Kalamazoo Ave ( Douglas - E Michigan ) from one - way to two - way operation as part of the City ’ s Streets For All initiative . This will consist of removals and excavation , utility work , concrete curb and sidewalk , traffic signals , paving , and other streetscape elements . Utility work includes water main installation , storm sewer installation , minor sanitary sewer improvements , traffic signal fiber and conduit installation , and structure adjustments . Traffic signals will be replaced at all currently signalized intersections within project scope . Railroad crossing modifications are also included at three ( 3 ) crossings . Most paving work is full - depth replacement , with some sections of 1 . 5 - or 3 . 5 - inch mill and resurfacing where practical . |
