The Plan Review Section within the Building Division of the City of Boise Planning & Development Services Department is soliciting proposals from firms to provide Structural Engineering Plan Check Services for projects which require additional technical review . The anticipated services will relate primarily to the structural review of new structures , additions to existing structures and remodeled projects which will be submitted to the reviewing engineer by the Boise City Planning and Development Services Department . The structural review will consist of reviewing plans and calculations to ensure compliance with current adopted City Building Code Ordinances and the International Building Code , International Existing Building Code , and International Residential Code , including referenced standards . The expertise that is required must encompass standard design practices for live and dead loads , and earthquake and wind forces on multi - story , high - rise , concrete tilt - ups , engineered metal buildings , steel framed , wood framed , and concrete masonry structures , among others . The City will contract with multiple consultants , and each will receive a portion of the annual estimate . Plan reviews will be conducted using electronic plan review software .
