Services may include digitization of individual curves or for entire well - log datasets as indicated in subsections below . Normalization of scanned or digitized log curve datasets into consistent LAS formats suitable for integration and analysis . Quality control screening for completeness , unit consistency , and internal logic . Preparation of metadata sufficient to support Bureau review , integration , and long - term management . Quality control procedures and documentation includes compilation of well header information and location data , including assembly of ancillary subsurface metadata derived from public records and authorized proprietary sources , where directed by the Bureau . Where available , the Coordinate Reference System ( CRS ) must be specified . 15 . 3 . 3 . 1 Log Curve Digitization by Curve - Digitization and delivery of wireline geophysical log curves by individual curve . 15 . 3 . 3 . 2 Log Curve Digitization by Curve - Digitization and delivery of wireline geophysical log curves for entire well - log datasets . 15 . 3 . 2 Raster Scanning of Geophysical Logs - Scanning of borehole geophysical well logs into depth registered raster formats suitable for archiving and analysis . All datasets shall be delivered in non - proprietary , industry standard digital formats ( e . g ., TIFF or GeoTIFF ) suitable for analysis and long term archival . 15 . 5 Third - Party Data Use - The Bureau may provide access to Bureau held or licensed third party datasets for the limited purpose of performing authorized services .
