CO2 emissions of heavy-duty vehicles are highly dependent on the trailer and body specifics. The current software tool (VECTO) is not capable of taking into account the specifics of trailers and bodies when determining the air drag and final CO2 value of the vehicles. The certification system has to reflect the reality in order to promote and facilitate the use of aerodynamic devices and other solutions that can reduce the CO2 emissions of heavy goods vehicles. The subject of this contract is to develop one or more IT tool, possibly an extension of VECTO and/or a separate software tool to be used for certification of trailers and vehicle bodies. The contract includes also the development of certification regulation that can be an amendment, a new regulation or both.
