Description | The Newark Board of Education seeks to contract with organizations and our Institutions of Higher Education ( IHE ) authorized by the New Jersey Department of Education ( NJDOE ) to offer endorsement courses for educators in high need - need Science , Technology , Engineering and Math ( STEM ) and Teacher of Students with Disabilities ( TOSD ) areas . We anticipate to enroll 40 candidates per two - year period . The IHE shall offer NJDOE approved Add - On Endorsement Certification programs for holders of Certificate of Eligibility ( CE ) ( including limited ), Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing ( CEAS ), and Standard Certificates in : o Teacher of Students with Disabilities ( 2475 ) The IHE shall offer NJ DOE approved Alternate Route ( including Limited CE ) Initial Certification programs in : o Teacher of Biological Science ( 2210 ) o Teacher of Chemistry ( 2270 ) o Teacher of Physics ( 2260 ) o Teacher of Mathematics ( 1900 ) The IHE shall offer NJ DOE Approved Alternate Route Shortage Area Initial Certification programs ( for non - majors ) in : o Teacher of Biological Science ( 2210 ) o Teacher of Chemistry ( 2270 ) o Teacher of Physics ( 2260 ) o Teacher of Mathematics ( 1900 ) |
