SOURCES SOUGHT : In accordance with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement Procedures , Guidance , and Information ( DFARS PGI ) 206 . 302 - 1 , the Government is issuing this Sources Sought announcement as part of its market research . This Sources Sought announcement is intended to determine the availability and technical capability of businesses to provide the required supplies . BACKGROUND : Naval Surface Warfare Center , Crane Division ( NSWC Crane ) is seeking information for market research purposes for the procurement of TR - 343 Transducer Ceramic Stack Assemblies used in the manufacturing of the TR - 343 Sonar Transducer . ​ TR - 343 Transducer Ceramic Stack Assemblies are a component of the TR - 343 Transducer system and under the cognizance of Naval Surface Warfare Center ( NSWC ), Crane Division . The TR - 343 Transducer is part of the AN / SQS - 53C Hull - Mounted Sonar Array , which is a component of the AN / SQQ - 89 ( V ) Anti - Submarine Warfare ( ASW ) System . The AN / SQQ - 89 ( V ) is a fully - integrated Surface Ship Undersea Warfare ( USW ) combat system with the capability to search , detect , classify , localize , and attack submarine targets . The TR - 343 Transducer Ceramic Stack Assemblies are critical components necessary to provide the required piezoelectric characteristics to produce mechanical motion in the water for generation of sonar signals when a large voltage is applied .
