The Contractor will be required to cut down and remove trees at the project locations , which are marked with pink paint / ribbon and / or are reflected on project plan sheets . This work is to be completed as soon as possible after award . Trees are to be cut down 2 - foot or less from ground level . Stump grinding is not required . The trees and all brush become the property of the contractor and must be removed from state right of way after cutting . No trees or branches are to be left at the job sites . A chipper may be used , and chips may be spread evenly over the right of way , but any large pieces or excess chips not able to spread evenly over the right of way must also be removed from the job sites . Some tree clearing is behind fencing . The Contractor must not disturb any existing fencing during tree removal operations . The trees to be cut down are in Monroe County along Route 24 , as various site between Route 107 and Monroe City
