Trees Planting Maintenance - Trees for Schools Grant

The contractor shall be required to purchase the appropriate specimens of plant material as identified on the landscaping plan drawings from a certified nursery in a USDA plant hardiness Zone 6 . All plant material shall be grown and dug in the Zone 6 area and verification of same shall be provided upon request . All plant material shall be purchased , transported , and installed where indicated on the construction drawings and as directed by the Fair Lawn Board of Education representative in a healthy , vigorous , and undamaged condition . The planting contractor will provide the Fair Lawn Board of Education with a guarantee for the health and survival of all trees planted in this contract throughout the period of the Maintenance Bond ( 2 years ) following the final acceptance of the contract . Stakes must be removed after one ( 1 ) year . The contractor shall provide all labor , equipment , water , and materials necessary to perform periodic , deep - root watering of trees planted withing the scope of this project for a period of 18 months from date of planting . The goal of this service is to ensure the establishment and survival of all trees planted with funds from the Sustainable Jersey Trees for Schools grant program .
